RESUMO

This thesis will present a Multi-Agent System for Distributed Natural Language Processing that uses the idea that the sentence intepretation will come from the interaction among the linguistic agents that comprise the system. Agents are associated with the words of the sentence, one agent by word. Each agent behaves in accordance with its word category (it s assumed that each word can belong only to one category). The agents will try to find the other agents to establish associations aiming at forming structures that can represent the sentence as a whole. When all the agents are connected the sentence level was reached and a solution is said to be found
