RESUMO

This work reflects the workersâ way of life in Uberaba city, based on records, on experiences and on many stories told by the residents of Alfredo Freire area. Through it, I try to interpret these residentsâ expectations, their tensions and their accomplishments, regarding the recordsâ expressions on the production of the cityâs official memory and the life experiences of those who used to be, and still are part of that neighborhood environment. This way, I try to interpret the historical transformations and changes that happened in Uberaba, linked to the many reported experiences. Analysing the dimensions of their way of living, approaching the leisure activities, the work, the established links, the dreams and the expectations over the city, are all part of this work intended objectives.
