RESUMO
This dissertation analyzes the influence of tourism on the social and economic development of a region and effectiveness of the creation of centers of tourism development as a strategy to achieve such development. Want to quantify the economic and social effects of tourism in the Amazon region of Marajó through the analysis of the socioeconomic indicators from the implementation of public policies directed to the tourist region classified as a pole of tourism development of Marajó. There is also the targets set by the Tourist Development Plan of Pará (PDT-SP) and if they have been finished.Used delineator is the object of research the Tourist Pole of Marajó and there is a comparison between Soure municipalities and Salvaterra, considered a priority by the PDT-PA, and the cities of Chaves, Santa Cruz of Arari, the Cachoeira of Arari, Ponta de Pedras and Muana, surrounding cities and those not considered as priorities for the development of tourism, although members of the cluster. The effectiveness of the division of space tourism in areas of development will be highlighted through the results, positive or not, seen in terms of socioeconomic indicators of locations designated as priority by the PDTPA compared to surrounding towns and members of the cluster. Among the indicators, there are those on population, GDP, the distribution of income and the increase in water and energy. For this, the analysis uses the years time as milestones in 2000, the year preceding the establishment of PDTPA, in 2001 and 2008. Analyzes the socioeconomic situation of the municipalities that date and their current status, seven years after the start of activities and actions stipulated in the Plan. This dissertation was prepared using a methodology descriptive-analytical and is configured in a search of interdisciplinary character involving concepts derived from both economics as Tourism. Is based on the theory of polarized development and Endogenous Development for a socioeconomic analysis of Regional Development. Uses survey of secondary data and field research to observe the local and tourist facilities involved, public agencies and communities involved.
