RESUMO
This work shows the use of the adjustable length cannulated screw, through percutaneous incision and the help of scopy. 35 patients (47 hips) wiil proximal femur epiphysial slipping PFES were treated, being male (mean age of 13 years and 9 months) and 9 female (mean age of 12 years and 6 months), ITom 11/1993 to 08/1998. The treatment was following for 29 months (05-66). Among the 47 hips, 24 were left and 23 right, being 23 unilateral and 24 bilateral. Taking into account the slipping degrees, 26 were graded type r, 12 weretype 11 and 9 type ill; 38 were chronical. The mean ofbody mass index Was 28,19 (male) and 23.89 (female), considered obese patient 21/35. The mean time for c10sure ofthe epiphysial growth plate was 4.63 months, significant1y lower than those hips c1assified as grade ill. Clinically, the results were (Southwick, 1967, and Boyer et ai, 1981, criteria): 28 excellent or good; 17 regular and 2 poor ones. The complication observed were: 4 hips with condrolysis, 1 with avascular necrosis (dignosed before the proposed treatment) and 1l00sening of the implant. We can pointed out that PCCA performance was the same of the another screws
