RESUMO

This work was elaborated in the research line education, work and social movements, intending at analyzing the organization of the work in fitness centers as well as the insertion of the Physical Education teacher. It tried to understand how the transformations, which happened in the world of work in the last few decades, reached this space bringing a new configuration and new requirements to the teacher. An ethnographic research was developed in six fitness centers, with interviews carried out with fourteen gymnastics or bodybuilding teachers and seven coordinators
