RESUMO

This thesis analyzes the role of the Northeastern Baptist Bible Institute in the construction of the Baptist identity in Feira de Santana, between 1960-1990. The social and religious conditions of insertion of Protestantism in Feira de Santana were analyzed, as well as how the Baptists, during a time of intense transformations in the city, relocated within the religious field of the city, conflicts that had already been faced by Protestantism and the denomination itself in previous generations next, the IBBNE was approached as part of the Baptist activity in Feira de Santana and the Northeast. From the reports of conversion and vocation of the candidates of Theological studies, the practices and representations that built a Baptist identity were analyzed.
