RESUMO

The work, a theoretical research from a Freud-Lacan background, aimed to analyze relationships among sublimation, creative act and the subject and affirm the presence of the subject in the creative act through sublimation. The reading method has been applied over the Freud and Lacan texts and another publications by the same orientation and with similar aim. Starting from the meaning of the subject to psychoanalysis and from its contemporary traits, a conceptual retrospect of sublimation in Freud and Lacan theory were followed by a discussion about the creative act. The way affirmed the subject in the sublimation and in the creative act, when both the disconnection from the object role and the handling with the Real take place; when the empty of the Thing is contemplated. The possibilities and effects of sublimation in present days were considered, analyzing the clinical relevance of the sublimation concept in our time. There is a proximity between the field of sublimation and the effects of psychoanalytical work. The sublimation do not prevent sickness and has no commitment with witch is socially desirable, glamorous or acceptable, but the value of sublimation cannot be neglected, moreover in so dark times, when grasses the apathy, when the creative act survives in the dearth, under the shade of other kinds of acting, tinted by violence, delirium, transgression and depression.
