RESUMO

The following paper has its basis established among the advances of the Linguistic Science, the difficulties found in Portuguese Language teaching and the attempt of school to follow the process of technological changes offered by the computer science. It is focused in educative software as a new tool built by the modern society. It shows the mediaâs point of view regarding the introduction and what the society think about this tool. Its first aim is to contribute to the Portuguese Language teaching in a way that it deals with educative software, a pedagogical tool that is not much used in most of the schools. In order to do our research, we have analyzed some software for Portuguese teaching, such as - Creative Writer, Fine Artist, Quadrinhos Turma do Chico Bento, Revistinha do Senninha, Story Book Weaver, My Own Stories, Oficina de HistÃrias, Ortografando, Ortografando II, Quero Aprender PortuguÃs- FÃbrica de palavras, Escrevendo ao PÃ da Letra, Professor PC- Curso de PortuguÃs, Desafio da LÃngua Portuguesa e Objetivo EducaÃÃo Digital - in private and public junior high schools in Petrolina-PE. Regarding these software, we propose to focus the relation between the reader and the material read by this reader, through the interactive actions about this user, showing 5 specific types of actions: order, narrative, argumentative, descriptive and expositive. We found the conception of language and text in the background of the proposal of use of each software. Thus, we understand the software as a new tool for reading that reveals some particular characteristics, typical from the digital medium, adding alphabetical writing, sound and graphic resources, that by showing a peculiar way of reading (in comparison to the book), demands from the teacher different competences from those developed in the printed culture
