RESUMO

The objective of this assignment is the synthesis of Ni3Al and Fe3Al, though the high energy milling. Intermetallic compounds are ordinate alloys, usually consisted of two elements characterized by the order of long reach they exhibit, that is caused by the strong connection among the different atoms when compared to the same atoms in the system. Some of the intermetallic compounds, specially those ones based on aluminum and silicium, have the attractive combinations of low density, high resistance and good resistance to corrosion and oxidation. The samples were obtained in attrition mill varying the milling time to a same relation ball/powder. The powders were submitted to thermal treatment for the final formation of the intermetallics. The structural characterization was accomplished through the diffraction of X-rays and electronic microscopy. The obtained results show the viability to obtain several systems of intermetallic compounds.
