Sindicalismo rural e agricultura familiar no município de Francisco Beltrão PR

RESUMO

It identifies the occurred transformations within the rural syndicalism from its official emergence, studying the Syndicate of Rural Workers of Francisco Beltrão s municipality, localized within the "mesorregião" [territorial divisions within the state] that comprise the southwest of Paraná state, considering the presence of family farmers, subjects, and actors from the syndicalist organization. Particularly, it analyses how the Brazilian rural syndicalism came up, as well as inside the municipality that covers this study, and its articulation with the family farm organization. For continuing this work, a research was carried out through the application of structured interviews to 7 members of the syndicate and 40 family farmers. The main results point out the following: rural syndicalism has changed its base of syndicalists leaders; from the nineties, the rural syndicalism indicates an option for a new rural development model, looking ahead to family farming, contrary to the waged work regime that precedences the capitalist farming, mainly within the region localized at the south of Brazil and; the syndicalist articulation of this region around family farming promotes discussions of guide lines with the Federal Government, reaching several goals, in such a way, because of the organization. It is concluded that family farmers who are over the shelter of the Syndicate of Rural Workers and the Syndicate of Family Farm Workers, in line with the propose of the Central Workers Union, are showed as alternatives for improving the quality of life, improving the labour conditions and the social organization because of the articulation of defense and union that comes from farmers. In this way, it affirms the family farm workers as a category and its representative entity, the Federation for Workers in Family Farming.
