RESUMO

The study of intermittency and chaos is necessary for our understanding of the complex physical processes governing the Sun-Earth relation, where the presence of multiple steady states can lead to complex dynamics if there is a stocastic source. The objective of this work is to apply the chaos theory to investigate the intermittent nature of the heliospheric environment in the presence of noise, based on numerical simulation of a nonlinear model of Alfvén waves. Thus, we present the observational evidence of Alfvénic regime in the heliosphere. Next, we carried out an overview of the basic concepts of the chaos theory. We present an overview of the derivative nonlinear Schrödinger (DNLS) equation model and its spatially stationary solutions, and then, by introducing noise in the model, we analyze the transient behavior, the intermittency phenomenon and discontinuities in the numeric solutions. Finally, we discuss the relevance of this study in the plasmas physics research.
