RESUMO
Our objective here is to attempt a presentation concerning the works of brazilian surrealist poet Roberto Piva, whose poetry comprehends the period between 1962 until now. To make this enterprise possible, it was stablished a view of the surrealistic movementâs global situation, from the Parisian group formed by Andrà Breton, the reception of their ideals in Latinamerican territory and U.S.A., and finally its troublesome actuation in Brazil, focusing in various efforts, as the poetry of portuguese Herberto Helder, ultraists and creationists avantgardes in Argentina and Chile, as well as Chilean âMandrÃgoraâ and âPÃnicoâ groups, American Beat Generation and Timothy Learyâs psychedelic revolutions, until the three distinct stages of Surrealism in Brazil and its obscure reception by Brazilian criticism, reaching its climax in the confrontation of Roberto Pivaâs masterworks, ParanÃia and Ciclones
