RESUMO

Species of Loneura Navás, 1927 have neotropical distribution and occur from northwest of the United States to the south of South America, were revised. An illustrate dichotomyc key and a relationship hypothesis among the species of Loneura was presented. The genera comprehends 15 species and the revision revealed 2 synonymies L. crenata sin nov of L. ocotensis and L. boliviana sin nov of L. meridionalis. Eight new species were registered, L. sp. n. 1 for Brazil, Pará; L. sp. n. 2 and L. sp. n. 4 Brazil, Amazonas, Manaus; L. sp. n. 3 Brazil, Pará, Marabá; L. sp. n. 7 and L. sp. n. 8 Brazil, Paraná, Guarapuava; L. sp. n. 6 for México, Chihuahua and L. sp. n. 5 for Bolivia, La Paz. A dichotomyc key is presented with an illustrate plate of the necessary characters to identify the species. This key does not include the specie L. quinaria. The monofphyletism of Loneura is proposed based on a cladogram generated by a 24 terminals and 38 characters matrix using NONA and Winlcada programs.
