RESUMO

The water consumption tendency increase with the increasing industrial activity and in specific, the textile area has been worring about this natural resources, once the water is a finish resource in our planet and its consumption in the areas how finishing process represents approximately 90% of the general consumption on this industry. The creation of environment laws more severe for the utilizations on this natural resources has brought the industries to search for alternatives which minimize its consumption as well as the cost and hence trying to reduce mainly the environmental impacts. In this purpose the work present a study about the reuse of the effluent of alkalinity treatment of cotton (mercerizing) in the knitting fabrics dyeing same fiber with reactive dye. For this finality the mercerize machine effluents has been collected and characterized referring to pH, color, total alkalinity, total hardness, DQO, concentrations or chlorine, sodium, total dissolved solids, turbidity and conductivity and then neutralized for using in the dyeing process. With the neutralized effluent was realized dyeing of 100% cotton knitting fabrics with bicolors reactive dye of the monochlorotriazine and vinilsulphonic classes has been alternating the salt quantity. The results obtained showed that a utilization this effluent was possible with a little adjustment in this recipe without affecting significantly the quality (ΔE,degree of color and washing firmness) of the dyeing. The total quantity of industrial water saved arrived at 15,5% in average for the dye class, it has been possible to arrive until 5.364 m3/year depending of the process conditions, that consequently reduce the quantity water in the ETA so of effluent in the ETE minimization through reuse, the necessity of this natural resource and also the environmental impact, beyond of minimized cost. Beside, it was possible to reduce the salt consumption (sodium sulphate) in approximate 17%, well as, of its contamination load in the ETE because it was produced in the neutralized process of the effluent. With the reuse we obtain a final product with the same quality, saved industrial water, salt and little quantity of treaty effluent, generating so a little environmental impact
