Resultados clinicos do uso do DIU "T" de cobre 380A comparados com a alça de Lippes e o "T" de cobre 200B

RESUMO
Two thousand four hundred and twenty-four patients users of the three models of IUDs, T-Cu 380A, T-Cu 200B and Lippes loop were studied at the Ambulatory of Family Planning of the Departament of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UNICAMP with the objective of evaluating the clinical performance of these three models. The contraceptive efficiency and the complications of a copper IUD of second eneration were studied comparatively with the T-Cu 200B and Lippes loop during five years ln the total population of the study and in the subgroups divided according to age and parity. The results showed that the differences occurred mainly in pregnancy, expulsion and continuation rates. We conclude that the three models of IUD had a good acceptance and clinical performance and that the IUD T-Cu 380A presented the best contraceptive efficiency. The models with copper showed the highest continuation rates and the lowest expulsion rates. These differences occurred in the total population of the study and persisted in the group of women with lower age and parity, that is, in the groups with higher risk of complications due to the use of lntrauterine devices.
