Representações sobre os museus de Salvador: um estudo junto ao público universitário.

RESUMO

In the present dissertation we reflect about the main problems faced nowadays by museums and its general aim is to investigate the representations and images that university audience museums. More specifically, we intend to show in which portion the museums are considered as a leisure option of this public that, due to its level of study, is one of the potential public of museums. Four hypotheses conduct this research: (1) The Salvadors museums are not seen as a leisure option; (2) few of them are known by the public; (3) there are few museums that are visited by this specific public and (4) that happens in a low frequency. A field research was made gathering data through questionnaires. The analysis of this data shows that public researched isnt aware of the existence of the majority of local museums; that Salvadors museums are not considered as a leisure and entertainment option, not even cultural leisure and that only few university students are used to visit museums at Salvador. The research shows the need to develop communication strategy and to build an institutional or a brand image by the most museums of Salvador.
