RESUMO

The disposition of solid residues in landfills, when projected, built and operated according to the technical norms it is a safe method of disposition. However it happens the generation of having leachate, that is the liquid that results together of the decomposition of the solid residues with the water that reaches the layer of residues. In leachate they are him present pollutant that should be removed to adapt it to the patterns of efluentes release. Among these pollutant ones the nitrogen can be mentioned that is found mainly in the form of N-ammonia. In this work it was analyzed the system of activated sludge and reactor anoxic, seeking to the removal of the nitrogen. The experiment was divided in two stages being a preliminary seeking to the viability of the system and other stage with controlled conditions. During the stage I the system was operated with three different phases: the Fase I (HRT=10 days) where the system worked as pond, because the recycle of the sludge was not made - Re, external recycle. The Fase II (HRT=20 days) with sludge recycle (Re) and the Fase III (HTR=20 days) with Re and recycle of the nitrificate efluent for the reactor anoxic (Ri). it was Obtained, in this Stage, medium efficiencies of removal of N-amoniacal of 61%, 60% and 73%, respectively, for the Fases I, II and III. The Stage II was divided in four phases, in this stage an automatic control of pH was installed. The phase I with (HRT=20 days) it was operated with Re and without Ri and it was obtained average of removal of N-amoniacal of 99% and removal of COD of 40%. the phase II (transition) it was marked by the abrupt alteration of HRT and consequent destabilization of the system in this phase the medium removal of Namoniacal and COD they were respectively of 82% and 27%. In the phase III carried out with HRT=13 days was obtained the stabilization of the system with recovery of the removal of Namoniacal (94%), they put the removal of COD it was not re-established in relation to Phase I, staying in 16%. The last phase (Phase IV) it was marked for the I begin of the internal recycle seeking the denitrification, what was not verified, by virtue of leachate to present him low amount of organic matter of easy biodegradation, on average 111mg/L, measured in the form of BOD.
