RESUMO

The agent-oriented development paradigm is recent, however, this new software development paradigm has been successfully used in industrial applications, such as telecommunications and e-commerce. Among the several concerns required for the consolidation of this new paradigm, we highlight the need for suitable methodologies, techniques, notations and tools to support the agent-oriented software development. In this sense, the Tropos Project is developing an approach for agent-oriented development centered into requirements aiming to support all phases of agent-oriented software development. The Tropos methodology defines five software development phases: Early Requirements, Late Requirements, Architectural Design, Detailed Design and Implementation. However, Tropos doesnât define activities related to the requirements traceability. These activities are necessary to identify, e.g. the requirements sources, who has identified its and why it was included in the requirements document. The actual Tropos version does not identify how the generated artifacts, in each one of the methodology phases, are related to the requirements. The Tropos methodology extent to deal adequately with the requirements traceability will bring many benefits, because it will either help attend the client requirements or give support to the change impact evaluations requested (even before implement it on the system to be). The results will be the quality software improvement as a result of the software process improvement and the narrowing of the software manutenability time and cost. Considering this, we propose in this dissertation the use a process elaboration for a requirements traceability model to include the requirements traceability activities on the Tropos metodology. This proposal will be validated through a case study elaboration that uses the Tropos metodology to develop a multi-agent software system to a e-commerce application
