RESUMO

Descriptive and exploited study with the objective to evaluate the quality of life of 20 adults with AIDS, accompanied by ambulatory specialized attendance in the interior of Rondônia, using as tool the WHOQOL HIB Bref. The results pointed out a greater participation of the women in the study, people with low level of education, single, aged from 30 to 40 years old. From the psychopathological the sexual transmission was predominant, good health condition, although the majority, principally the women dont consider themselves sick. The majority also decided not to answer what wasnt okay with themselves, and the ones that answered classified as the worst perception to know that they were infected by the AIDS virus. The analyses of the scores of the dominium of the WHOQOL HIV-Bref revealed that all the dominium showed averages above the average point (12). The score of the dominium which presented the lowest average was spirituality, religion, personal beliefs (12,5) and the facet forgiveness and guilty (8,6) contributed to diminish the rates of the score of this dominium, very close to this, comes the score of the dominium environment (12,7), the facet finances (8,6) contributed to diminish the values given to this dominium, the highest score was obtained by the physical dominium (14,4) positivetely determined by the facet pain and discomfort (17,2). The score of the psychological dominium which reached the average 13,7 was negatively influenced by the facet cognition (11,2). In the dominium level of Independence (14,1) the mobility facets were predominant (15,6) and the daily life activities (14,6). The dominium score Social Relations (13,3) revealed that the interviewees are very satisfied with the friends supports (14,0). It was concluded that to live with AIDS brings about a lot of conflicts, attitudes changes and loss in the financial, social, emotional and spiritual aspects, at the same time, some of these changes are redirected to positive attitudes of how to carry on life, take care of the health, living with the family, friends, environment, with God and above all with themselves.
