RESUMO

The retention of prefabricated fiber posts used on endodontically treated teeth is based on adhesive systems and resin luting cements. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the depth, surface treatment and adhesives luting cement used for retention of prefabricated fibers posts. The factors studied were SURFACE TREATMENT: with EDTA and without EDTA; LUTING MATERIAL: RelyX ARC without adhesive (RO), RelyX ARC / Single Bond 2 (RS), RelyX ARC / ED Primer (RE), Panavia F without adhesive (PO), Panavia F / ED Primer (PE), Panavia F / Single Bond 2 (PS) and DEPTHS: superficial (S), medium (M) and deep (D). Push-out test was carried out on 360 1 mm thick specimens get from 120 endodontically treated bovine roots. ANOVA showed no statistically significant differences for the SURFACE TREATMENT factor but LUTING MATERIAL and DEPTHS were significantly different. Tukey (LSMEANS) (0,05) showed that the highest push out means was presented by Panavia F / Single Bond 2 on superficial third (24.76 MPa) and the lowest by Panavia F / without adhesives on deep third (2,49 MPa). Conclusion: the surface treatment did not influence the push out strength of prefabricated fiber posts; total etch adhesive system present better behaviour than self-etch adhesive; retention of prefabricated fiber posts was higher on superficial third; the lowest push out strength was presented on deep third and Panavia F presented better results among the luting cements
