RESUMO
The present dissertation consists in the discussion and revision of psychotherapies use in the States Mental Health Centers. The starting point was the difficulties of psychotherapies use in the States Mental Health Centers. The related literature of those procedures, some official documents of the period between 1981 and 1991, and the authors involved with the attention practice of the States Mental Hea1th Centers and with the researches about the outpatients of these services, were examined. The dissertation development allowed the circumscription of the out patients characteristics and the psychotherapies propositions more adequated to these
