RESUMO

The great technological development in decades has brought changes of great importance in several areas of knowledge. In engineering, you can cite as one of those modifications to change the ideology and construction of mechanical projects, related to the emergence of CAD systems. In medicine, major changes have emerged with the advances offered by Radiology, in which the discovery of X-ray, the German physicist Wilhelm Konrad Rontgen, in 1895, allowed indirect access to the human body. With the alliance of technological advances these two areas came the opportunity to provide the support necessary medical area of engineering. Thus, the goal of this research is to validate a methodology for modeling geometric shares of bone dry in a CAD system, through image processing, from medical information generated by a CT scan. In this research studied a human skull and a femur dry smoked veal. The first was used to describe the implementation of the conversion process of information, in which none of the steps of image processing was done through commercial systems. The second was used to validate the case study, which was done through a machine to measure three-dimensional coordinates, a comparison dimensional geometry and the results obtained by the methodology in relation to the object studied. The main conclusion of this research is that the methodology of geometric modeling of parts bone in CAD systems is effective, and thus can be used in the project and the design of human prosthesis. The methodology developed can be regarded as the first step to support the manufacture of this design, still considered craft.
