RESUMO

The number of organizations that implemented different management systems has been increased to attend the demand of the consumer market. Among the existing management systems, quality management presents as a major tool adopted by the constructionâs companies interested to reach their goals to the marketâs requirements. However, search for quality should be associated with an improvement of the occupational health and safety conditions. The absence of the health and safety management exposes the productivity, quality, costs and working environment. In this context, the occupational health and safety management systems are important because they supply management tools that introduce the culture of accidents prevention. Also they contribute to eliminate or to reduce the risks of the workersâ physical integrity. This research presents a proposal for the integration of quality and occupational health and safety management systems, based on the normative reference SiAC, PBQP-H, and the OHSAS 18001:2007 standard, in micro and small companies which works with civil construction. The integrated implementation of these management systems takes in account the particular characteristics of the civil construction, the regulation and laws. It may contribute the improvement of their processes and working environment conditions and decrease the rates of accidents verified in this sector of the economy
