RESUMO

The work detaches the structural situation of the beekeeping in the Cities of Aquidauana and Anastácio/MS. This work also emphasizes the relevance of the organization of the beekeepers to the consolidation of the apicultural activity in these localities. The objectives of this work are: to analyze the elements that are part of the apicultural activity and to verify the existence of a Local Productive Arrangement in the cities in study. The field research was carried through interviews with the main elements that compose the apicultural activity: the Association Pantaneira East and 13 beekeepers; questionnaire application, for sampling, in 417 domiciles distributed in both localities; and application of questionnaire in commercial establishments, service establishments and public institutions potentially honey consumers. As result, In the Cities of Aquidauana and Anastácio was observed the inexistence of a Local Productive Arrangement, but the existence of some elements that are part of this arrangement was observed. One evidenced that the organizacional situation of the beekeepers not yet total is structuralized. The interviewed beekeepers had produced approximately 13 tons of honey in 646 beehives, in 2005, getting an average productivity of 20 kg/hive/year. With regard to the honey consumption, a per capita average of consumption of 410 was verified g/hab/year, that is, a superior average the national one. One concluded that a trend in the increase of the honey production exists; an increase in the consumption, in view of the obligatoriness of the introduction having of the product in food school. Although the per capita average of consumption is to be bigger that the national one, the form of this consumption in tho most is made more as medicine, following the national trend.
