RESUMO

The objective of this work is to demonstrate the problems and the challenges that the Distrito Federal government comes facing up in the management of the hydrics resources. It valve the effective and the application of the law 9.433/97 (Law of the Waters), in spite of having effectiveness since 1997, in Distrito Federal it has not been applied efficiently. It was demonstrated that the problems related with the water are of world ambit, that the whole planet in some way, it has been suffering and it will suffer the consequences of the inadequate use of the water. Though, the subject in Distrito Federal is alarming, in reason of natural factors, geographical, environmental, social, administrative and financial, besides the not applying of the legislation on the subject. The lack of the precise liquid is announced, and the researches demonstrate that, around 10 years, the population of Distrito Federal wonât have more access the drinkable water. The local Government has for the front an enormous challenge, that is to say, to avoid the collapse of the water in Distrito Federal, applying the legislation, the financial resources, educating the population on the use of the water, collecting appropriately for the use, supervising the springs, creating the committees of basins, as it determines the legislation in vigor and, finally, managing appropriately the resources available hydrics, under feather of the capital of Brazil to turn a true desert
