RESUMO

Acid cerium (IV) phosphates (CeP) were prepared and the influence of synthetical conditions, such as reagents PO4/Ce molar ratios, temperature and reaction time, on the structural and morphological properties were studied. Several techniques like X-ray diffraction, infrared, Raman and P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies were used to follow the structural changes. The morphological characterization was done by using scanning electronic microscopy. The produced CeP shown evolutions on the organization at the short, medium and long distances with the employed experimental conditions, leading to the formation of self-supported sheets when the material has fibrous morphology .The characterization techniques also supplied data to both suggest the crystallization and growing mechanisms based on the Ostwald s ripening and study the effects caused by grinding the samples. The fibrous cerium (IV) phosphate was used as an inorganic matrix for the synthesis of a nanocomposite by combining it with a conductor polymer, the polypyrrol. This nanocomposite was prepared via in situ chemical oxidation of the pyrrol promoted by the Ce ions present in the inorganic matrix. The effects of the concentration of the pyrrol solution was studied, as well as the influence of the matrix on the morphological and structural characteristics of the polypyrrol and its physical-chemistry properties.
