RESUMO

The textile industry processes deal with many different materiais being responsible for a large volume of potential pollutant streams, mainly due to losses of dyes occurring during the dyeing process of the fibers, which are discarded in the effluent. Membrane separation processes are considered potential good new alternatives for the treatment of textile effluents. The aims of this work were to prepare and characterize asymmetric microporous polymeric membranes by the technique of inversion of phases, using polymeric solutions with different concentrations of polyvinilidene fluoride, PVDF. It was studied the influence of the concentration of polymer in the morphology, performance and selectivity of the nanofiltration membranes in a filtration cell with perpendicular flow with solution of reactive dye. A factorial design was established to analyze the results. Three variables with 2 levels were chosen for this purpose: pressure, concentration of the dye solution and concentration of PVDF in solution used to prepare the membranes. Mathematical models for the permeate flow and reduction of color also could be established. The characterization of the polymeric membrane was conducted by Scanning Electronic Microscopy and water permeability assays. Permeate flUX from 3,5 to 16,5 kg/hm2 for respectively values of color reduction frem 99% to 83% were obtained
