RESUMO

This study refers to the construction of a theoretical and clinical body of knowledge on the psychotherapeutic process by the harm reduction perspective, to patients not addicted to injectable drugs. It reflects on a series of clinical and epistemological questions about the potentialities and limits of the harm reduction approach, in a dialogue with Edgar Morins theory of complexity. This analysis also draws on system theory and therefore, on the complexity paradigm. It starts with a brief review of some historical events that marked the genesis of the harm reduction approach, as a movement that emerged in the context of a paradigmatic transition. The methodology used in this study includes the metod of case studies, which defines as its unit of analysis among the contextual profile of three clinical cases of drug addicts during psychotherapy going through the harm reduction. The drug addicts was two mem and on womam among 23 and 30 years of age, had of average socioeconomic status and had completed the medium education. The use prevalence of drugs was alcohol, marijuana, cocaine and merla. The data was obtained through the documental analysis of psychotherapy sessions, registered in the archives of public and private institutions specialized in the treatment of drug addiction by the harm reduction method. The individual and social trajectories of all patients, the context in which they consumed drugs, and the process developed during psychotherapy in each of the cases went through a longitudinal analysis. This analysis demonstrates that three main dimensions were present during the psychoanalytic process in all the cases: the dimension of the psychotherapy in the context of persistent drug use, the interdisciplinary dimension, and the dimension related to the support networks. From a transversal analysis, the text establishes an epistemological dialogue between these dimensions and the harm reduction perspective in the psychotherapeutic process. As final considerations, some epistemological reflections are put forward, with the intent to emphasize the results of this investigation on important questions posed by the harm reduction perspective in terms of its own principles and those of society.
