RESUMO

The career has faced several changes in its conceptions, as a consequence of the events in the economic, political and social scenes. This changes are based on the technological advance, globalization and in the agility in the communication process, planning, thirtializing, function overlapping and unemployment among others. In such a way, it is possible to verify the relevance of the research on the planning of career in the under graduating life once people always reserve room for their thoughts, during the life, to the professional development and all the anxiety of overcoming it occur after the conclusion of the graduation. This study aimed to make a research among the undergraduating students registered in the Management and Business course of 2006/2. The target of the study if How do ILES/ULBRA and the undergraduating students in Management and Business, in the limits of this research, deal with the planning and the development of professional career facing the protean career? To answer this questions, some important aims were established which involved to evaluate the contributions of ILES/ULBRA Management concerning the students expectations, to raise the reason to choose the course and the career anchors of the students, verifying the view of the students about IES management, showing the contribution of IES activities to the career, according to the policies and to diagnosis the profile as well as the career training of the students concerning protean career applicability. To accomplish this work, a qualitative and quantitative research was developed as a descriptive study case in which collecting of data and questionnaire were techniques used and also documentary research followed by a statistics analysis. It was detected that the institution presents adequate rules according to the necessary techniques to the formation of the manager, but the students are not satisfied with those ones they have available. The under graduating who were researched state they chose the course because it fitted them, although their anchors show divergence concerning the information between the course profile and the students needs. They do not show motivation to participate in the activities presented by the institution even knowing they are essential to their qualification. As for the institution, it was pointed that it has an inflexible resume for following the policies. The results of the research point to the traditional career principles instead of the emergent protean career. Most part of the students believes that career is exploitation the opportunities, and for these, in a short period of professional experience they become part of the third job. The students are confused about their responsibility in the career development, and most of them do not have a planning, this fact makes it impossible for them to trace strategies and implant a career plan.
