RESUMO

This work presents a comparative study about columns with high strength concrete usually reinforcement and mixed columns: steel pipe and center of high strength concrete, with square and rectangular transversal section under axialloads. By means of the obtained results, it was observed an increase of the high strength concrete ductility, in terms of the transversal confinement reinforced rate increase, used in the square and rectangular columns. It was also studied the ductility of high strength concrete confined through steel pipe walls of square and rectangular section obtained from the weld "u" section. It was observed confinement efficiency increase by the pipe of square section, related to the transversal reinforcement of same section columns
