RESUMO

The use of stimulating pastes has for purpose to increase the tax of resin flow and it time of duration; the stimulation promotes an induction in the resin production, retardation in the cicatrization of the lesion, and, consequently the resin channels stay for more time in activity. It possesses, therefore the capacity to prolong and to activate the resin exudation. Selection of 1200 available trees of slash pine was made in 12 blocks of 100 trees in Forest Experiment Station of Itatinga (SP). Those trees were analyzed in the sense of determining the productive potential of the same ones through two explotation periods with Black Paste. In this area 6 blocks they had previously been exploited with Black Paste and 6 blocks with Red Paste. From 1200 trees 318 trees were selected with medium productivity, found in larger frequency inside each block. Those 318 trees were submitted to the treatments with 5 stimulant pastes, (Red Alchem, Paste with Ethephon Planebrás, Black Resinas Brazil, Red Eldorado and Test Paste (Paraquat + Ethephon) compared to the Control (Black Planebrás). Biweekly chipping and collects every three months were accomplished (of the result of 5 grooves), being determined the resin weight treated previously with black paste and red paste. It was also verified the resin production in relation to the temperature and the relative humidity. Analysis of the resin was made to determine the pitch percentage and terebene (alpha and beta-pinen) and the number acidity. Finally it was established the damage provoked by the stimulating pastes; establishing the D.A.P. of the trees of Pinus. The objective was to determine the relative efficiency of the different pastes for chipping of Pinus elliottii var. elliottii. The obtained data were submitted the variance analysis and to the test of Tukey at the level of 5% of probability. Application of stimulating pastes with ethephon didn t show significant advantage about application of pastes without ethephon, and the pastes with ethephon are usually seven more onerous times. It was verified that application of a Test Paste (Paraquat 100g / kg + Ethephon 450g / kg) it was shown inefficient, and the other pastes stimulants didn t differ amongst themselves in the areas resined previously with Black Paste. In the areas resined previously with Red Paste was observed that the applied stimulating pastes didn t differ of the Control (Black Planebrás). Trees treated with Black Planebrás (Control) showed a direct relationship between the periods of larger productions and increases in temperature. Trees treated with Red Alchem revealed increments in production related with periods of increases in relative humidity; and that tendency was also observed in three other treatments. Application of the Test Paste (Paraquat + Ethephon) caused an increase in the incidence of dryness of the face compared to the other treatments. The trees selected in the two areas showed variations in D.A.P. of the order from 47 to 90 cm.
