RESUMO

This research is linked to the thematic axis: Education, Culture and Society and it refers to the research line: Of Discourse and Educational Practice from the Post Graduation Program Master Degree in Education at FURB and have the thematic senses of school for the children of Infantile Education. The general objective is to comprehend discursively, the senses of school given by children of Infantile Education. Resides, it aims at reflecting the organization of space and time at and of Infantile Education. Also, it aims at investigating the participation of children in the making of activities and plays proposed by the teacher. Still, it aims at analyzing the playground of the target institution. The qualitative interpretative research was carried out in Brusque at a public Infantile Education Center. The data records was held in eight afternoons of may, 2006. Non-structured and participative observation were preferid. The subjects are sixteen children, with ages ranking from 4 to 5 and their teacher. For this study, we found orientation in the Bakhtins enunciation theory as the language allows the comprehension of the produced senses in the social and historical conditions. Foucault will base his research when we are having a conversation with the records related to discipline issues. For learning issues, we will be supported by Vigotsky, Cagliari and Piletti. Barbosa will help us with works in the Infantile Education area. And for childhood discussions, we will count on Sarmento and Pinto. As for theoretical aspects, the research promoted meetings among authors of different areas, in an interdisciplinary perspective. The analysis shows discipline notion and the school as a place to learn what points to homogenious process practices. The analysis also defines the school as a place to play. Considering the results, what children say contributes to a reflection about: the institutionalization of childhood, the children as people with rights and the organization of space/time and routines
