RESUMO

The Municipal Park in Nova Iguaçu (PNMNI) is an urban park, inserted in the BB-Gericinó Mendanha, living environment in which approximately one million people. In this sense some impacts may be perceived as over-use in the zone of intensive use and that compromise the quality of visitation. To achieve this study, we tried to enlarge the degree of involvement with the administration, so that the strategies of exploration and collection of data that could be tested and implemented during the work.Thus, after evaluation of the territorial and environmental zoning of the Management Plan of PNMNI, questionnaires were applied and research on the profile of visitors and their pattern of dispersal. Then, through the concepts of conservation and forest fragmentation and edge effect, tried to sort and select tracks whose possible guidelines emphasize the tourist potential of the areas elected and at the same time, improve the masses forest still exist, but also for the regeneration of degraded areas. On these bases has been applied the method of zoning for recreational opportunities (ROS) to provide subsidies for zonings tourism and leisure management for immediate implementation of visitation and support future studies in this direction.It was possible to complete the objectives set in this dissertation, among which the proposed zoning of recreational opportunities, the assessment of the current profile of visitor and mapping and roteirização of a new circuit of trails. It is that given the difficulties of various units of conservation in updating their management plans, adapting them to the realities that are developed, this study considers, among these and other issues, the possibility of setting as a management tool, the use of existing network of tracks and analyzes the spectrum of recreational opportunities as vectors of actions for the conservation of mass or forest ecosystems and hence the update of zoning and environmental area.
