RESUMO

The effectiveness of the probiotics demands of the researchers methodologies that assure the quality of this product and the safety of the consumers. The aim of this study was to obtain a lyophile standardized from Zymomonas mobilis culture and to determine your bactericidal activity against Escherichia coli, microorganism commonly implicated in several infections. The bactericidal activity of the lyophile of Z. mobilis was evaluated by Time Killing Curves method against a collection strain and four clinical isolated of resistants Escherichia coli to some b-lactam antibiotic. The lyophile of Z. mobilis presented a fine powder and stable in microbiologicals, physical and chemistries characteristics. It shown active inhibing of the growth of E. coli in the first four hours. This inhibition was prolonged during of the experimentation, whose inoculum reduction was on average equal to 2,68 log10 Â 0,63 after 24 hours. This results give credits to us to develop of pharmaceutical formulations
