RESUMO

The research investigates how interaction between participants of a network is influenced by technology. In this sense, this study seeks to investigate how society and judges are related, as users of electronic judicial proceedings system on special courts to Federal Justice of northeastern Brazil, where there are no paper based files - they deal entirely in virtual environment - and legal work occurs through the interaction of parties in electronic media, with access via World Wide Web (Internet). Using ideas of some authors on contemporary movement of global virtualization, both from theorists who share a vision of humanizing phenomenon, and those that see all new information technologies and Internet as a disaster of mass homogenization of men, and the end of the communication itself, and based on information obtained in the fieldwork, carried out through interviews with federal judges who presided special courts at the time of installation of electronic process system, the study concludes that use of electronic proceedings technology contributed to approaching magistrate to society they serve, which is crucial from the perspective of construction and improvement of democracy
