RESUMO

With the advent of the New Republic and the failure of gradualism in the period from March 1985 to February 1986, had the deployment of the Cruzado Plan. This study examines this stabilization plan, with regard to the conduct of the external sector of the Brazilian economy. The object of this study is to answer to the following question : How was the performance of the Brazilian s external sector during the Cruzado Plan until the moratorium on foreign debt in February 1987? The work is composed of three chapters. The first chapter deals with the economic situation prior to deployment of Cruzado Plan, analysing its national and international datas. The second chapter examines the Cruzado Plan, economics statistics of the plan for stabilization and economic policy implemented and its consequences. The third chapter deals with the external sector of the Brazilian economy, analysing the behavior of Trade Balance, Services and Rentals, Flow of Capital, Balance of Payments and the moratorium imposed in February 1987
