RESUMO

This work presents an interpretation of the religious phenomenon entitled by me The Moving of Saint Spirit in the End of the Millennium Pentecostals and Charismatics in Goiânia, focusing the last decade that precedes the end of the Millennium. The date pointed out to interpret the religious phenomenon are the experiences of the Quadrangular Gospel Pentecost Church and Sacred Family Catholic Church believers, both situated in Vila Canaã, Goiânia, Goiás. The initial purpose of the work was to hear from the believers about their experiences of faith that led them to a new lifestyle, a social ethical conduct, based on a dynamic of life in spirit. Thus, I return to the event that originated the Pentecostalism and the Charismatic Catholic Renewal Movement as well the biblical Pentecost. Up to the incredible expansion of these religious movement nowadays. To analyse such expansion I attempt to detect the cause of the attraction to these religious practices of emotional nature. The am aunt of problems caused by the religious, economical and social structure nowadays promote a varity of solution seeking in the religious field. The excessive bureaucracy of the institutions, the lack of psychological hope lead the man to involve in supernatural experiences where the sacred fulfills these gaps, where the Holy Spirit can relieve the tensions and problems of every one. Finally, I do an articulation between the two religious groups highlighting the similarities and differences between them, as well as the seeking for rationalization and rationalizing actions of these emotional religious. I conclude that there is, in these curing religious, such a deep emotional involvement, however, it does not mean lack of rationality. So that, these religious promote such variety in the religious and symbolic area and in social relations. The old rituals are considered cold, lifeless and having no meaning. Spontaneous, joyful and extrovert rituals are realized although poured with a lot of praying. Through these rituals God can be touched what does not rely on the social, economic, political, historic and circumstantial situations but only on the life in Spirit.
