RESUMO

This thesis is a study about the political aspect of regionalism nowadays, analyzing the importance of that new world configuration for the Nation-State. For that, we investigated, more specifically, the Mercosul. Analyzing the transfonnations of the Nation-State in the last decades, we stood out the new political space that the regionalism can offer to it. In the case of Mercosul, we see that, by making part of this bloc adopting a regional proposal, the National State of the member-countries would assume a new political paper.
