RESUMO
This work consists in some essays about the relationship between Literature and Education. It approaches its theme under the principles of mimesis and polis, according to a reading of Plato s Republic. It analyzes some literary works - Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion, Mark Twain s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn - and also the relationship between the writer and the citizen, using the categories of ambiguity and irony.
