RESUMO

This study aimed to determine how sequences can contribute to the didactic teaching high school math in youth and adults at the Center for Advancing Education Equivalency (NAES) in Navegantes. From the theoretical and methodological proposed by Freire, Cury, Fonseca, and Méheut Zabala, the investigation the survey involved two classes of students, being developed and applied instructional sequences, called: how is the calculation of the electricity bill, and the fishing and mathematics. The application of qualitative analysis of the sequences, step by step, validate and analyze the possible contributions these for teaching mathematics in adult education. We conclude that the autonomy of students stimulated during the application of the sequences was a contributing positively to the acquisition of mathematical content. Two factors were instrumental: the first is that the theme used in teaching sequences has been something of the lives of students, which meant that the questions arose spontaneously and the contributions that students make sense of learning the mathematical content, the second factor was the fact that the teaching sequences have been developed step by step, and how the steps (activities) were linked, which makes it easier for the students perception of their learning
