RESUMO

This thesis, NOT-YET: potentialities and possibilities of the human care, is founded on the hypothesis that the epistemological basis of the production on the human care is anchored in scientific knowledge and also in others knowledge and practices resulted from the knowledge of the common sense, amongst which they point out the popular practices derived from the work of the traditional midwives and the quacks. The study is inserted in the context of the epistemological debate that, in the middle of the decade of 1980, started to present samples of exhaustion of the model of scientific rationality, announcing a paradigmatic crisis and the emergency of a new paradigm, announced as an epistemological alternative for the expressions post-modern and post-modernity. Beside of the priority conferred to the scientific knowledge, its opened a space for an ampler rationality, that it aims to, amongst other questions, a proposal of joint between the scientific knowledge and other forms of knowledge, recognizing the complexity and the multiculturalism of the care. The theories that anchor this study are related to the constitution of the human care, and they are represented by the critical of the modern reason, by Boaventura de Sousa Santos. The perception of a social group, concerning the phenomenon of the human care, is based in the Theory of the Social Representations, by Serge Moscovici, in order to reveal the bases under which the interpretation of the group about reality organize and forge itself, or either, the different agreements of the human care. The field of the research was carried through in the area of Federal District and region of the surroundings of Goiás. A total of ten people, six quacks and four midwives participated of the research. The data reached in interviews and questionnaires concerning the characteristics of the practice, the level of involvement with making, the form of construction of knowing/doing and the possibilities of articulation of the practice with others knowledge search to identify significant aspects of the thematic of the care according to the perspective of midwives and quacks. Its searched to understand as the constitution of the phenomenon of the human care happens, stimulating reflections on this thematic, with the objective to favor the dialogue between different knowledge in direction to the completeness of the action of caring.
