RESUMO

Among many reasons plants are cultivated because of its inflorescence beauty. Calla lily has high commercial value due to its large acceptance in the market. The acquisition of vigorous plants is considered indispensable for the satisfactory flower production. To product seedlings with quality, is necessary the knowledge and application of principle and technique from the choice of the propagation material until the management of the seedlings. The tissue culture is used for propagation of calla lily mainly aiming to produce materials free from disease. However, the aim of this work was to evaluate in vitro multiplication of calla lily. The experiments were carried out in the Tissue Culture Laboratory at Department of Agriculture from the Federal University of Lavras. The plants used in these experiments were already in vitro established. The culture medium used was the MS medium, 30 g.L-1 sucrose; the pH was adjusted for 5.8 before sterilization, at 120ÂC, per 20 minutes. The growth regulation used for in vitro multiplication was the BAP. The explants were inoculated, aseptically, in tube and in flow laminar. There were performed the following experiments: 1) BAP concentrations (0, 2, 4 and 6 mg.L-1) and different concentrations adenine sulphate (0, 20, 40 and 60 mg.L-1); 2) concentrations of salts MS medium (0, 50, 100, 150 and 200 %) and sucrose (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 g.L-1) and 3) light spectrum (white, red, green and blue) and sucrose (0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 g.L-1). The better results for in vitro multiplication were obtained with the use of 5 mg.L-1 BAP, 125 % of salts MS medium and 30 and 45 g.L-1 of sucrose concentrations associated white light.
