RESUMO

This work presents a technique for modeling dynamic systems together with a new proposal for the design and development of embedded controllers for automotive systems. In this new approach not only is it possible to modify the applied controller to vehicle dynamics by simply enabling or disabling successive specific local controllers, but it is also possible to change complexity of the dynamic model of the car. With this approach the designer makes the vehicle behave closer to what is perceived by humans: a vehicle in parts and with different complexities as operational situations may change. This approach approximates the vehicle to the homeostasis concept, employed in medical sciences, which determines the normal behavior of the human body. It recognizes the ability of a high level hierarchical controller to determine small control actions for critical specific scenarios. By that the controller reestablishes local stability and, as a direct consequence, ensures global stability of the vehicle. This work presents theoretical considerations and the initial developments in order to achieve the Homeostatic Controller. It also presents simulations and applications to specific cases.
