RESUMO

The objective of this work is to propose a methodology for planning full services access networks. The proposed methodology is divided in two stages called strategic planning and technical planning. In the first one the planner, helped by computational tools of financial analysis, defines the best technologies, among several available, for upgrading the existing network. In the second one, using optimization algorithms, the planner executes the optimal expansion of the network, seeking the maximization of the revenue generated. Applications of the methodology to actual networks are reported. Sensitivity analysis are made and commented. It has been verified that the adoption of two stages in the planning diminish the excessive complexity of the problem, because of the great number of evolutionary paths, producing optimized solutions under the criterion of maximizing revenues. The methodology proposed applies to the expansion of actual access networks, seeking the attendance of both broadband and narrowband services
