RESUMO

Industrial mineraIs markets have been showing continuous progress both on the national and intemational levels. The segrnent of animal nutrition has been improved with the implementation of new handling technologies which increase the consumption of mineral elements due to the vital functions in the feeding diet of animaIs. Among the mineral feedstuffs used for animal nutrition, the limestone and the phosphate rocks have key roles. The calcium, as CaC03, is the most aboundant element found in the animal body. The phosphorus, as P20S, together with calcium, compose the skeleton, or the animal body structure. The current specifications and requirement in convention with the market competitiveness, make the incrementation of partnerships between the producer and consumer fundamental, where both parties can and should grow financially stable, within pre-set quality standards. This work can contribute to this. It also points to the interdependency between the producer and consumer markets, facing the conceming structural diferences such as organizational and economics, besides presenting the analysis of primary availability from the existing structure of demand and availability, as well as the technical and economic potential of this industry. AIso presents a consumption projection for the coming years taking into account the enviromental aspects of the extraction of these mineral resources
