The aim of this work is to discuss the concept of Modernity in the study of Ianguage, but not by imposing a priori some concepts of rationalism, humanism, or others. From the Iectures of Toulmin and Baker &Hacker, we traveI across Saussurre and Chomsky, trying to see what traces were important to Linguistic construct the agenda of Modernity
