RESUMO

In this work, a theoretical study on the dynamic behavior of fermentation was done using a model constructed to represent the continuous culture of Zymomonas mobilis in a stirred tank bioreactor. The model was analyzed by dynamic simulation and by drawing bifurcation diagram, to study the influence of the parameters of the model in the stability and in the appearance of stationary solution branch. The study were based on the literature experimental data that show oscillation when the glucose concentration in the feed is high, around 200 g/L, and the dilution rate is about 0.07 h-1. The bifurcation diagrams and the dynamic simulations show the capability of the model of predicting the existence of stable steady states and sustained oscillation in same operational conditions, as observed in the previous papers
