RESUMO

The aim of this study was to evaluate the Knoop hardness of dual-cure resin luting agents under different ceramics. The specimens of Rely X ACR (3M ESPE), Eco-Link (Ivoclar) and Panavia F (Kuraray), were prepared and placed under each ceramics systems IPS-Empress and In Ceram with thicknesses of 2 mm and 4mm, simulating occlusal and proximal faces (n=11). Knoop microhardness evaluations were made immediately after light curing, after 24 hours and after 14 days. The specimens were storage in 37C relative humidity, protected from the light. The results were analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey test at 5% significance. In immediate evaluation the Eco-Link cement have lower hardness than Panavia F with all ceramics, and the Rely X ARC presented lower hardness than Panavia F for In Ceram 4 mm and IPS Empress 4 mm only. After 24 hours the Eco-Link cement showed the lowest microhardness, and the Rely X ARC wasnt different from Panavia F in control group and with In Ceram 2 mm. After 14 days, there were no significant differences between Panavia F and Rely X ARC,and the Eco-Link showed lower hardness than Panavia F, but no significant differences were recorded between Eco-Link and Rely X ARC. For Panavia F and Rely X ARC no significant differences were observed among ceramics and control group, in all evaluation times. The Eco-Link cement, after 24 hours of the light curing, showed lower hardness with In Ceram 4 mm than control group. Concluded that ceramics used in this study didnt reduce the microhardness of the cements, except for Eco-Link cement in the evaluation 24 hour after the light curing.
