RESUMO

Digital inclusion is a highly discussed issue nowadays, specially concerning its implementation. Thus, this research aims to analyze, through an empirical and theoretical investigation, the issue of digital Inclusion in Brazil, as a tool able to contribute to the minimization of social differences. Through a case study we show the need of making projects with long term objectives, giving all necessary resources for having a possibility of success. Digitally including someone is an important step for social inclusion, since with technological litteracy individuals will be skilled to get a better job and hence have an income raise. It is also about enabling individuals to positively deal with the continuous and fast transformation of the technological base. The project studied here was Digital Education, developed by Brasil Telecom, together with other organizations. Digital Education is a model laboratory where students will be able to better develop their tasks and school researches by using the Internet and other computer resources. Based on the case study, we can say that the success of Digital Education Project is linked to its implementation model based on three fundamental points: physical/technological infrastructure, training of coordinators, faculty members and assistant students and periodical followup/ evaluation
