RESUMO

In the latest decades, the diffusion of new technologies of production and work management has been pointed out as the base for a new production pattern. The new technologies supported by microelectronics and new forms and organizational system of human activity have been radically modifying this presupposition of mass production, both in the textile universe and in a broader economy, intervening directly in the work relationship. The changes in the organizations lives and in the world of work are baffling, allowing them to keep a high level of flexibility in terms of human resources. This allows the companies to face the oscillations of a market which is more and more globalized and competitive, adapting and retracting in accordance with the situation. On the other hand, this reality presents its negative side, because it causes insecurity among the workers, mainly among the ones who are being highly affected by unemployment and professional frustration: the young, the older and those who are underqualified. This thesis makes a bibliographical analysis of technology, patterns and organizational forms of work, comparing the situation prior to the introduction of the new technologies with the present. Still, it observes the required profile, the insecurities of these generations regarding the possibilities in the work market, in the job, and the role of education and the knowledge focusing the tendencies of this new productive paradigm. The work presents the results of the field research done at Universidade Católica de Pelotas, encircling student-workers from different city organizations; it investigates and evaluates, through the interviewed level of satisfaction, the multiple aspects that involve this new scenario, since the youngs are directly involved in this process. Taking these aspects into consideration, it can be observed that the student-workers are perceiving not only the requirements involving this scenario, but also the changes and actions that have been implemented by the University and the organizations, aiming at fulfilling the demands of the new work organization
